Who are Katseye?

Katseye is a six memeber local girl group global girl group, formed through the 2023 audition program "The Debut: Dream Academy." Based in Los Angeles, the group is a joint venture between the South Korean company HYBE and the U.S. record label Geffen Records. The group is noted for it members' diverse cultural backgrounds, representing countries such as the nited STates, Philippines, Switerzerland and South Korea.

The story of Katseye

The competition process:

Initial auditions: Starting in late 2021, HYBE and Geffen Records held a worldwide audition, receiving over 120,000 applications from aspiring artists.

Finalist selection: The applicants were narrowed down to 20 contestants from various countries and backgrounds. These contestants were brought to Los Angeles for an intensive training and development program based on the K-pop idol system.

The Debut: Dream Academy: The 12-week competition followed the 20 finalists as they performed through three main singing and dancing missions. The contestants were judged by a panel of industry experts and fans who voted online.

Live finale: In November 2023, the competition concluded with a live finale in Los Angeles, where the six winning members of Katseye were chosen.

After the group was officially formed, the entire process was documented in the Netflix docuseries Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which premiered in August 2024. Katseye then made their official debut in June 2024 with the single "Debut".

"Touch" (2024): Released on July 26, 2024, this became a breakthrough hit after its choreography went viral on TikTok.

"Gabriela" (2025): The second single from Beautiful Chaos was released on June 20, 2025.
