The Raiden Shogun (Japanese: 雷電将軍) is a playable 5-star Electro character. She can be played as a strong on-feild DPS (best if you have her C2 or higher) or as a Sub-DPS in overload or Dendro teams (e.g. hyperbloom). She is also a good off-feild Electro-application and a "battery" for your team, since she can regenerate energy for your team members.
Here is a guide on how to build&play Raiden Shogun!
Ascension and leveling up
To fully ascend Raiden Shogun and level her up to level 90 you will need:
Unleashes the Musou no Hitotachi and deals AoE Electro damage. After activating her burst, Raiden Shogun's normal, charged and plunge attacks will be infused by Electro (meaning that she can deal Electro damage instead of physical). In this state, she will also regenerate energy for all team members. The effect lasts 7 seconds, and the infusion will be cleared if Raiden Shogun leaves the field.
2nd priority - Transcendence: Baleful Omen (Elemental skill)
Scaling: ATK
Cooldown: 10s
Duration: 25s
Deals Electro damage to enemies nearby and gives the team members the Eye of Stormy Judgment. (The purple ring that follows the character)
Characters who gain the Eye of Stormy Judgment will have their Elemental Burst damage increased based on the energy cost of the Elemental Burst during the Eye's duration.
So, to maximise Raiden Shogun's Burst damage, you should activate her Elemental skill first, then activate the Bursts of the rest of your team members, and only then use Raiden's Elemental Burst.
Last priority: Origin (Normal Attack)
Scaling: ATK
Just deals physical damage.
Cost of talent upgrade (for one talent)
Mora: 1,652,500
Character talent materials:
Teachings of Light: 3,
Guide to Light: 21,
Philosophies of Light: 38
Can be obtained from the Violet Court domain in Inazuma on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Weekly Boss drop:
Molten moment: 6 (Obtained after defeating La Signora Weekly Boss)
Crown of Insight: 1
Best Constellations
Her best constellation is C2 (Steelbreaker) which allows her Elemental Burst to ignore 60% of the enemies' DEF, which is basically an about 40% damage increase.
Now let's take a closer look at Raiden Shogun's build and best teams:
DPS/Sub-DPS build:
Artifacts:
Raiden Shogun needs a lot of Energy Recharge (ER) to activate her passive talent which gives her 0.4% Electro DMG bonus for each 1% above 100.
She needs around 275%, but not higher that 300%!
Therefore, the best artifact choice for main DPS Raiden Shogun is 4 pieces of Emblem of Severed Fate, which can be obtained from Momiji-Dyed Court in Inazuma. The 4pc bonus increases a character's Elemental Burst damage by 25% of their total Energy Recharge, but this bonus is capped at a maximum of 75% bonus Burst DMG, which is achieved at 300% ER, so we don't need more than that.
The best artifact stats are:
Sands: Energy Recharge
Goblet: Electro DMG bonus or ATK%
Circlet: CRIT rate or CRIT DMG
Target Stats: (look for those in the sub-stats)
ATK: 1800-2000
Energy Recharge: 275-300
CRIT rate: about 60-75%
CRIT DMG: 120+
Weapons: (Best to good)
THe best choice for Raiden Shogun is her signature weapon: Engulfing Lightning, it provides high ER and ATK buffs. - 5 star
The Catch (best if R5) is the best F2P weapon which can be traded for fish in Inazuma. - 4 star
Staff of Homa - 5 star
Primordial Jade Winged-Spear - 5 star
Skyward Spine - 5 star
Deathmatch - 4 star, obtained from the BP
Favonius Lance - 4 star
Team examples:
C0 Raiden:
Raiden Shogun, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Bennet - Her best F2P team, also called "Raiden national"
Raiden Shogun, Chevreuse (can be replaced by C6 Sara), Xiangling, Bennet
Arlecchino, Raiden Shogun (as an overload sub-DPS), Chevreuse, Bennet
Raiden Shogun, Furina, Yelan, Xilonen (can be replaced by Jean)
Neuvillette, Raiden Shogun (as a charged sub-DPS), Furina, Xilonen
The hyperbloom reaction heavily relies on Elemental Mastery (EM), so we don't really need other stats.
For hyperbloom Raiden you can either use 4pieces of Flower of Paradise Lost or 4 pieces of Gilded Dreams, both of these will be good for her.
The best artifact stats are:
Sands: Elemental Mastery
Goblet: Elemental Mastery
Circlet: Elemental Mastery
So, basically... we only need Elemental Mastery.
Weapons:
The best option for Hyperbloom Raiden would be the Dragon's bane, since it provides high EM and increased DMG against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro. - 4 star
Other good options include:
Calamity Queller - 5 star
Staff of the Scarlet Sands - 5 star
Kitain Cross Spear - 4 star (Can be crafted in Inazuma)
Team examples:
Raiden, Nahida, Yelan/Xingqiu/Furina, Baizhu
Raiden, Kokomi, Nahida, Dendro MC
Raiden, Neuvillette, Lauma, Xingxiu/Yelan
Raiden, Alhaitham, Nahida, Xingxiu
Raiden, Lauma, Yelan/Xingxiu, Nahida
As you can see, hyperbloom Raiden is pretty easy to build, she is also f2p friendly and has a lot of good teams to choose from!
